Sweetwater Research is seeking motivated individuals to maintain a strong online presence for Sweetwater alongside our current manager. Candidates will distribute online marketing initiatives, company updates, and educational material through social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) to connect with partners and increase awareness of our work and mission. Qualified candidates will be motivated to learn Sweetwater’s mission and unique approach to water ministry and to understand the appropriate language and strategy required to communicate Sweetwater to diverse target audiences.

Hours
Minimum 10 hrs/wk. Interns may offer more as they are able.
Commitment of 3 – 12 months is required. Exact duration is dependent upon applicant’s availability.

If working locally, intern will receive free housing with a host family and gas and mileage reimbursements as allowed. Interns are encouraged to develop prayer and financial ministry partners for the provision of monetary compensation according to financial need determined by the intern and Sweetwater staff. Sweetwater will train and assist interns through the process of ministry partner development.
For remote and local interns, all direct costs associated with this position will be covered by Sweetwater such as software licenses (Adobe etc.) or printing costs. Interns will be expected to use a personal laptop and phone unless underlying circumstances require Sweetwater to provide one.
Responsibilities
- Research target audiences and utilize current trends in social media to increase Sweetwater’s visibility, report on projects, and support fundraising campaigns.
- Create engaging text, image, and video content
- Monitor web traffic
- Develop optimal posting schedule and marketing plan
- Communicate regularly with the Director for content and to relay social media feedback
Qualifications
- Completed or pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications, or equivalent experience in social media engagement
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly to diverse audiences with words and pictures
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision
- Believer in Jesus Christ who can, in good conscience, sign Sweetwater’s Statement of Faith.
