What We Are Looking For
We are looking for an Accounting Intern for the upcoming 4th of July Season to focus on the accounting aspects of our various operations. We intend to provide students with an accounting-based learning experience involving the wholesale, nationwide distribution, and retail sale of consumer fireworks. It would allow students to apply the accounting knowledge they have acquired and learn new technical reporting and internal control skills.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Assist the Accounting Manager with updating financial records daily
- Conduct internal audit procedures to assess the effectiveness of financial reporting controls using pre-defined checklists and report findings directly to the Accounting Manager
- Test and evaluate each department’s effectiveness of internal controls by reviewing and analyzing records and reports using internal control software
- Analyze financial reports and recommend means of cost reduction
- Complete profitability analysis of shipping operations
- Track the effective product movement through the supply chain from manufacturer to customer receipt
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- macOS experience preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working Conditions
The intern must be able to work 40 hours a week. The internship will run from mid-May through the end of July, although opportunities may exist beyond this date.
