At RGA, we’re seeking summer interns for the Global Technology department. There are several opportunities to learn and begin working side-by-side with technology teams spanning software development, cloud services, cybersecurity, infrastructure, information management, data analytics, technology strategy, and project management.
Under direct supervision, you’ll build hands-on experience in technical problem-solving while supporting software maintenance, testing, and clear documentation across new and existing applications. You’ll also learn to use AI tools to assist with both technical and non-technical tasks as you strengthen your knowledge of development tools and processes, learn from experienced teammates, and contribute to real work that matters.
Participants can expect:
- 10-week paid summer internship aimed at helping to explore the technology field
- Impactful and relevant projects that align and support RGA’s strategic business initiatives
- Networking opportunities with key stakeholders and senior leadership
- Group activities with the fellow cohort, including social and volunteer events based out of our Global Headquarters in Chesterfield, Missouri.
What you will do
- Migrate and standardize API request collections, improving structure, naming, and maintainability.
- Write, run, and debug scripts and automated checks; document results and fixes.
- Clarify requirements and convert them into request flows, test cases, and clear documentation.
- Analyze issues and recommend improvements, using AI-assisted techniques to speed delivery.
- Learn to use AI tools to assist with technical and non-technical tasks.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) of Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
- Training/exposure to modern language Required
- Training/exposure to relational/NoSQL database Required
- Exposure to basic programming concepts and logic Required
- Desire to develop programming skills Required
- Demonstrates ability to quickly learn new technologies Required
- Ability to solve standard problem, using education, independent thought, and judgement Effective communication skills, including ability to exchange normal information, while confirming answers to questions Required
- JavaScript/Java/Groovy/Go/C#/.Net/Python Preferred
- Some hands-on application development experience, either through professional work experience, internship or coursework Preferred
