The Process Engineer Intern or Co-op will work alongside other Process Engineers to prepare drawings, calculations, and other deliverables for our clients’ design projects. The position will also interface with team members in our other engineering disciplines to provide cohesive engineering packages to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Complete calculations of limited complexity, with supervision as needed; may include hydraulics, relief devices, and equipment sizing
- Develop and maintain P&IDs and PFDs
- Assist experienced Process Engineers with their activities as requested
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree (or equivalent education) in Chemical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university
- Ability to work within diverse teams assemebled from Nexus, clients, and others
- Effective communication skills in order to convey ideas is a must
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel and Word
- Seeks feedback to improve performance
- Experience with Aspen, HYSYS, ChemCAD, or other process modeling software a plus
Potential Experiences:
- Gain an understanding of the business and engineering work flow in a consulting firm
- Expand capabilities with process modeling software such as Aspen, HYSYS, or others
- Assist with equipment and instrument specifications
- Learn about process safety and its importance in the design and operation of our clients’ facilities
- Exposure to and application of industry codes related to the process discipline
