SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Activity Leader will assist the Site Coordinator in the planning, developing, and implementing of classroom activities for after school programs at local schools. This position requires face-to-face leadership in this program and may involve early morning responsibilities.

Program Management Responsibilities
- Attend all meetings, trainings and program planning sessions scheduled and/or specified by the Office of Extended Learning (OEL).
Please Note: All GRPS LOOP sites are licensed by the State of Michigan and operate under all guidelines and policies as outlined in the Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers Manual.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-year childcare or youth-related experience; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Prior to working with students in a structured program setting, must complete LARA (PA116) mandated requirements:
- Comprehensive Childcare Background Check (CCBC) including fingerprinting by LARA approved agencies.
- Obtain CCBC eligibility to work in a licensed childcare facility.
- Complete MIRegistry Health and Safety Online Course 1 and Health and Safety Online Course 2;
- Obtain First Aid Certification and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by LARA approved agencies; submit ARC/AHA certificate/card to Office of Extended Learning upon completion.
- Negative TB Test; verification of TB status is required
- Valid state issued ID.
- Fingerprinting required by hiring agency.
- Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry Check.
- Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
- Ability and desire to work with elementary and/or middle school children
- Working knowledge of computers.
