What You Will Do
The Residential Counselor is responsible for daily operations of the program milieu, assuring a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that supports participants’ growth. The Residential Counselor is also responsible for safety practices, enforcing and monitoring policy and procedures. The Residential Counselor builds supportive relationships with participants who have faced multiple challenges in their lives, which may include homelessness, foster care placement, mental illness, trauma, and/or drug and alcohol use. The Residential Counselor may also complete other duties as assigned. multidisciplinary team.

Full time employment. Hours/Days TBD
Salary Range
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this California position is between $22.55 and $28.78 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends when needed.
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the developmental milestones of youth and young adults.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize de-escalation techniques that align with the trauma informed care model as part of intervention strategy for working with participants in crisis who are responding to triggers/stressors and/or demonstrating early indicators of distress.
- Clean drivingrecord: current CA Driver’s License required, or ability to obtain within 10 days after hired.
- Basic computerand keyboarding competence with the abilityto use Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred
- B.A. Degree in social science discipline or two (2) years’ work experience.
- One (1) year or more experience with programtarget population (homeless,teens or young adults, current or former foster youth).
- One (1) year or more experience with supportive housing and/or mental health program
