TDK-Lambda Americas Inc., a world class manufacturer and distributor of electronic power supplies and a leading global electronics company, seeks a qualified Electronics Technician. This is a fulltime regular position based in Neptune, New Jersey.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Test and troubleshoot during acceptance testing, by applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, electronic and electrical testing, engineering, mathematics and physics.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Test/troubleshoot using various equipment (ie: Scopes, meters, signal generators, power sources, etc)
  • Be able to find and understand associated technical procedures needed.
  • Identify pass / fail conditions and correct them if needed.
  • Ability to navigate computer functions.
  • Record data.
  • Read a detailed schematic for troubleshooting purposes.
  • Perform component level troubleshooting.
  • Maintenance of test equipment and test station.
  • Layout, repair and build test fixtures.
  • Works with external customers on repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EXPERIENCE: Six to ten years of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)

EDUCATION: Associate’s Degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to travel to customer sites when needed.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must pass Electrical Safety Training
  • Must pass Technician Electrical / Testing knowledge test

Vision Requirements

  • Very Close vision (clear vision at 10 inches or less)
  • Close vision (clear vision at 10-20 inches)
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
  • Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
  • Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)Please provide details on the specific job duties that require the physical demands selected above.
  • Moving object to be tested, involves lifting, reaching, walking.
  • Testing may involve sitting or standing, based on item being tested.
  • Many work aids use color identifications.
  • Vision to read documents and test equipment displays and screens.
  • Peripheral and Depth vision needed for the safety aspect of testing with energized circuits.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The following are characteristics associated with the environment in which this job is typically performed.

Moving mechanical parts 1/3 2/3 of the day

Risk of electrical shock over 2/3’s of the day

Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
