The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a hybrid position of sales development and account management at Arsenal Business Growth (ABG). The position reports to the Director Sales Development or other designated member of the ABG Leadership Team and is supported by the Operations Manager. The Director Sales Development is assigned to assist new-to-role SDR’s with on-boarding, cultural introductions, and day-to-day operations-based questions. Training is provided by the Director of Sales Development along with support from across the ABG team. Excellent opportunity for those with entrepreneurial-minded sales and marketing interests! Key Responsibilities
Building records for existing clients and/or next ‘on-deck’ industries
Sourcing manual information for lists and properly recording/updating SalesForce records
Learn the Arsenal pitch and rehearse effective delivery
Completing ‘Arsenal’ calls to continue build-out of our book of business
Data management to ensure Arsenal pipeline reflects organize, accurate, and current records.
Cold call and distribute e-mail solicitations
Set ‘Arsenal’ appointments; and, follow-up with prospects, as appropriate
Train and gain proficiency in effective use of software applications including SalesForce, RingCentral, Balto, Outlook, and related Microsoft Office applications.
Regular, predictable attendance and punctuality and overall timeliness
Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to convert conversations with stakeholders or key decision-makers to appointments (resulting in business growth); and, have the ability to prepare and plan to get to that critical conversation. Candidates must be able to show resilience, curiosity, intuition, business acumen, strategic thinking, repetition, and conviction – all while perfecting the overall process. The ability to convert conversations into qualified sales appointments and meet performance expectations include the following key qualifiers/traits:
Coachability – must be able to know when to ask questions and accept constructive feedback and then but said feedback into action.
Repetition – effective role play and daily practice of pitch, industry knowledge, business acumen
Regular, reliable attendance and punctuality – including showing up each morning with a plan as prospecting and preparation are instrumental in effective execution
Care and concern with authenticity – demonstrate the ability to utilize the tools and resources (including scripts) to converse; however, the skill to using intuition and having a genuine conversation is instrumental to clients feeling you’ve made them a priority and care about the success of their business.
Active listener – this is a top skill requires not just waiting for someone to finish speaking; but, also to demonstrate the ability to pick up on tonality, inflections, and emotions.
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associates and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Management, or other related discipline from an accredited university preferred. Sales experience preferred, but not required. Successful candidates will demonstrate a consistent, strong work ethic, sound business judgement, and a desire to succeed. The ability to communicate in a clear, effective, and concise manner is essential. Personal approach and attributes should include product and industry knowledge and conveying a sense of concern about their business and financial success.
Effective use of equipment and technology such that your tone, enunciation, and words are clear and concise. Ability to listen carefully and take appropriate, results-oriented action (e.g. schedule appointments, resolve concerns, etc.)
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment as well as external clients in an independent and professional manner. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills a must. Ability to interact effectively across industries, people styles required. Effectively demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and initiative to research, apply logic, and exercise sound judgement while conducting work, seeking resolution, etc. Ability to work in a multi-faceted, fast-past environment handling multiple call priorities simultaneously.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of software packages such as Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. Proficiency with SalesForce, Balto, preferred. Excellent opportunity for entrepreneurial-minded sales and marketing professionals.
