Some of the responsibilities for the intern will be:
- To work with existing staff in providing a full range of service to our members
- Program design and implementation
- Assisting on inclusive sports specific projects such as our Summer Camp program
- Assisting elite Paralympics athletes with personalized programs
- Development and delivery of structured inclusive activities and classes
- Assisting our administration offices with preparing for a variety of sporting events
- Assisting with games and activity supervision in our sports hall
- Setup for sporting events
- Building maintenance- equipment, cleaning & variety
- To promote a wide range of inclusive, accessible activities for all where possible
- To ensure our policies and procedures are upheld
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION
The national governing body in Ireland for sport for people with physical disability. This organization promotes sport and recreation through clubs, resource centres, schools and our flagship accessible Sports Centre. Our sport division caters to all individuals with a physical disability who seek to fulfill their ambition of partaking in sport at a level of their choice.We support high performance athletes in reaching their full potential at both National and International Standard. Our high performance athletes represent Ireland at European Championships, World Championships and Paralympic Games.

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance.
Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
